King Moy

King Moy is an engineer who pushes for innovation during product development while adding realism to final concepts delivered to his clients.He started his career at HLB, honing his skills at designing industrial, medical, and consumer electronics while working with multi-disciplinary teams.Here he mastered human-centered design based approaches to engineering while working with ethnographic and sensor based research teams; collaborations which resulted in the development of technology assessment studies to identify solutions to design problems or roadmaps for innovation, now known as smart data.Following HLB, King applied his skills at RTC Industries, where he managed multi-national and multi-disciplinary teams in the development of leading edge interactive retail technology from concept to manufacturing and deployment.Currently, King is the Electrical Engineering Group Leader at Inventus Power where his team is designing novel energy storage solutions for commercial, medical and military customers around the world. King holds an MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a BS in Computer Engineering from UIC.While successfully delivering numerous products to market over the years, he has received several patents and awards.He actively mentorsengineers and students, encouraging them to continue learning while offering career guidance at UIC and at Northwestern where he serves as a Segal Design Institute Affiliate.Additionally, he continues to make connections between academia and industry bypromoting joint ventures between the two.
