President Elect

About

A graduate from UIC in 2015, David Klawitter completed his BS in Civil Engineering. He joined the EAA that year as a board Member-at-Large, wanting to give back to the University that had been such an essential part of his education and development. David served an interim position as VP of Membership and developed the Ambassador Program as the Chair of the Student Engagement Committee. David is now serving the UIC EAA as President Elect and continuing to grow the Ambassador program. David is currently employed by Mackie Consultants in Rosemont, Illinois focusing on water resources engineering and site development. He has a strong passion for engineering, leadership, the environment, and sustainability. David held the office of President for EcoCampus, UIC’s sustainability student organization. He completed a number of Sustainability Fee Projects around the Chicago campus and was a part of an UIC team that won first place in the national USEPA 2014 RainWorks Challenge for Green Infrastructure. He continues his passion for engineering and sustainability as a Research Affiliate with the UIC CME Department, working on residential water consumption modeling. David is eager to share his engineering passion with students and confer with his fellow alumni.

David’s free time is filled with recreational running, ice-skating, golfing, and playing board games with friends. He enjoys volunteering and community service opportunities. David is excited to see the EAA growing and wants to continue building relationships between alumni, the University, and its students.
